Analyzation and step-by-step writing

of Non-fiction texts

including the critical application of AI

(Adaptable to different grades)

Writing non-fiction texts can be challenging for students, as it is a more restrictive and structured way of writing. This class will teach students to write and structure many valuable and varied real-world and academic non-fiction formats in an analytical and a creative way. To avoid any misuse of AI to write non-fiction formats, we will teach students the pitfalls of solely relying on AI for their writing and how to use AI critically and to their advantage.

Popular classes are descriptive essay writing, persuasive essay writing, summary writing, news article writing, response to literature writing, and research report writing. However, we have many formats to choose from and are also happy to use formats students specifically need help with.

One course covers one writing format, each taught in eight to twelve weekly lessons, depending on the format. The course will guide students step-by-step on how to write a polished text about an interesting topic. We will incorporate AI to teach students how to use it the best way.

To better understand our course structure, here is a lesson overview of our research report writing class example:

Lesson 1: Analysing a research report

Lesson 2: Selecting an interesting topic

Lesson 3: Research questions and research

Lesson 5: Organizing research source content

Lesson 6: Writing and organizing an outline

Lesson 7: Creating a title and introduction

Lesson 8: Writing paragraphs

Lesson 9: Paraphrasing source content

Lesson 10: Writing quotes and listing sources

Lesson 11: Writing a Conclusion

Lesson 12: Presentation & discussion of reports

Our founder uses the material in combination with her knowledge, practices, and content ideas, as she has taught this class successfully in Canada and China. After each lesson, students will receive homework, to reinforce learned content and enable students to write a step-by-step text within the format and about a topic of their choice.
