Dear Students and Parents,
a warm welcome to you and thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about who I am.
The above quote has always resonated with me:
Love of Learning
I’m genuinely passionate about language. Words fascinate me—how they’re used, how they connect ideas, and how they bring stories to life. Having previously worked as an AI Prompt Engineer and Data Annotator at Meta, I developed a deep appreciation for the power and precision of language in both creative and technological spaces. Alongside my work in AI, I’ve taught classes, tutored students, and written short stories and screenplays—experiences that continually deepen my connection to language and storytelling.
I also enjoy researching high-quality materials and designing class content that combines strong fundamentals with creativity and real-world relevance. Sharing this passion with students and helping them discover the power and beauty of English is incredibly rewarding. I’ve taught a wide range of subjects in Canada and China, including Classic Literature, Poetry, Creative Writing and Screenwriting, Non-Fiction, and English as a Second Language. Beyond the classroom, I’ve also helped students craft compelling college application essays for top schools.
Love of Learners
Every student is unique and deserves personalized support. I love helping them discover their writing voice, embrace their authentic selves, and build confidence in who they are. I adapt my teaching to each student's needs, skills, and personality, incorporating diverse materials and approaches to keep lessons engaging and relevant. Parents appreciate my patience, kindness, and challenging yet real-world content. Students love my sense of humor and creativity—and that I let their personalities shine while encouraging them to express their ideas freely.
In my classes, students read and analyze texts carefully to truly understand and connect with written content. I use the Socratic Method to guide discussions where students discover answers themselves and develop strong critical thinking and communication skills. Students also get a chance to practice what they've learned to improve their writing skills along the way. I actually tend to write along with them during class, which they absolutely love! I believe learning should benefit students both in school and in life. Through careful observation and detailed feedback, I help students build not just language skills, but belief in their abilities, their personality, and who they're becoming.
Bringing the First Two Loves Together
Every student success—big or small—brings me genuine joy. Teaching isn't just what I do; it's who I am. I'm constantly growing as an educator so I can support each student in their own unique way. I can't imagine life without my students and teaching, and I hope to bring these two loves together for a long time.
A Little Something Fun
I won screenwriting awards for my very first scary short screenplay and had the honor of serving as a judge for the UK's Pageturner Awards. When I'm not teaching, I write scary short stories! I'm currently working on a collection—one spooky story for each month of the year. There's nothing quite like crafting a good plot twist or sending chills down a reader's spine. 👻
Warmly,
Jennifer Storm, M.A.

Idea for Languagearts AI
While working as an AI Prompt Engineer and Data Annotator at Meta, I realized that critical thinking and truly excelling in a subject are more important than ever for students to compete with and manage AI in the future. As AI becomes more integrated into students' lives, it's crucial for them to learn how to think and write independently instead of solely relying on AI—and how to use it responsibly when they do. During my classes, I noticed students don't question AI output enough, which can have detrimental effects on their learning and critical thinking skills. This sparked an idea: What if I could teach students how to use these tools in the best possible way while strengthening their core language skills at the same time? That's how Language Arts AI came to be. :-)
